A car bomb exploded in Mosul right next to the press office of the Lebanese Al Mayadeen News Channel.
The attack comes amid heavy bombardment of ISIS positions in eastern Mosul.
Iraqi Air forces also carried out strikes against ISIS positions in the vicinity of the Great Mosque of Al Nouri and the banks of the Tigris river.
So far the Iraqi forces regained control of several important sites in the old city of Mosul, previously under control of ISIS.
According to the Iraqi Federal Police source, "The Federal Police forces took control of the Al Basha mosque, Al Adalah street and Bab Serai market in the old city of Mosul," pointing out that "the troops inflicted severe losses upon ISIS terrorists who lost several of its fighters and equipment."
The source further added that the security forces continue to progress in accordance with plan, while also being supported by the Iraqi Ar Force.
