Clashes between the Yazidi Militia known as the Sinjar Resistance Units (shortened YBS and which is aligned with the Turkey-based PKK) and Peshmerga units of the so-called “Rojava”, which are loyal to the KRG occupational forces of the so-called “Iraqi Kurdistan”, erupted at around 7am, local time on Friday.
The fighting broke out, following the deployment of the Rojava Peshmerga Forces near the Sinjar area of Iraq later on Thursday. The area is under control of the YBS. The Peshmerga forces allegedly attempted to penetrate the area.
The clashes have since ended. YBS also issued a demand “not to approach Sinjar in order to avoid further escalation”. Both sides met with loses.
