The first meeting of the Russia-Donbass Integration Committee is being held in Yalta, Crimea. This new agency aims to strengthen the process of integration between Donbass and the Russian Federation.

The heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky, will participate in the first meeting of the committee which is opening its work in Crimea. While on their visit, Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky proclaimed that they see their regions’ future in integration with Russia.

Russian State Duma deputy from Crimea, Andrey Kozenko, announced that the Russia-Donbass Integration Committee is being established as a public structure whose activities will be aimed at strengthening the process of humanitarian, social, and cultural integration between Donbass and Russia.


The committee’s founding meeting plans not only to discuss the experience of cooperation in various spheres, but also present joint projects and approve work plans for the current year. The committee expects to hold multiple meetings on the territory of the Donbass republics and Russia by the end of 2017.
