Terrorists from Jaysh Al Islam group, located in the Eastern Ghouta are said to have launched ballistic missiles on Damascus, Syria’s capital city.
According to the statements of some “activists” on social networks and footage material that is currently circulating around, the terrorists launched SCUD type missiles from the foothills of the Qalamon Mountains in response to the current counter-terrorists operations, conducted by the Syrian army in Al Kaboun area.
The statements and footage cannot be independently verified.
Earlier on Sunday, the so-called “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” reported that the jihadists from Jaysh Al Islam are about to massively infiltrate the town of Barzeh, located north of Damascus, in order to launch a surprise attack on Damascus.
Major Ali Abdul Baki, chief of staff in the so-called Jaysh Al Islam terrorist group, wrote on his Twitter account that "the battle will go on, despite the recent attempts by the Syrian Army". The latter has since completely surrounded the Kaboun area, after taking control of the nearby driving school building in the district of Hinkarat.
Aside from successes in Qaboun, the Syrian Army also managed to restore the security to the villages of Jeb al Qahwah, Mazrat Al Abadi and Qasr Al Ahmar in the eastern countryside of Aleppo after fierce battles with the ISIS terrorists. The Army also took control of several frontlines of the Turkish-backed jihadist groups, operating in the Manbij area. At least 5 villages are said to be under control of the Syrian Army now.
