The authorities of Ukraine have ceased all electric power to the last regions of Donbass that still relied on Ukrainian electricity.
"From 0.00 on July 26, 2017, power to the areas of the Donetsk region that are not controlled by Ukraine has been terminated. Other regions of Donetsk and Lugansk do not currently consume electricity produced by power plants in Ukraine" - it said in a statement.
Much of the Republics' energy needs are now covered by supplies from the Russian Federation.
