A source close to the talks on settlement of the Syrian crisis in Geneva, said that Russia and the United States may soon introduce a second truce agreement for Syria, believed to be sometime in the mid or late August, after the US and Russian experts will reportedly hold their consultations in one of the European capitals.
The source told Sputnik News Agency that a new ceasefire agreement will soon be announced (probably around August 14th or 15th), and likely before the next session of talks on settlement of the Syrian crisis in Astana, scheduled to take place in late August, stressing that it will likely include certain contested areas of the Homs province and possibly also the problematic Eastern Ghouta suburban area of Damascus.
During the G20 summit in the German city of Hamburg earlier this month, US and Russian officials already managed to come up with a de-escalation zones agreement, currently valid for the southwest of Syria, particularly the areas of Quneitra and As Suwaydah provinces as well as the Syrian-Jordanian border.
