Field reports claim that the Syrian forces have entered the town of Sukhneh, the main ISIS hub in the countryside of Palmyra, following intense clashes in the surrounding areas.
Fierce clashes are currently raging in town that has since been completely surrounded by the Syrian Army.
It is expected that complete liberation of Sukhneh will be announced within few hours.
In the province of Hama, Army units continue to raid ISIS and Tahrir/Al Nusra Front positions.
Earlier on Thursday, an ISIS infiltration attempt was thwarted in direction of Ethriya and Al Rusafa.
All of the invading terrorists were killed and their equipment seized.
Later, 8 more ISIS terrorists were also killed west the village of Jeb Al Mazarea, located in the eastern countryside of the town of Salamiyeh.
In addition, Army units also foiled and infiltration attempt of Tahrir/Al Nusra Front terrorists on Thursday morning when they were trying to attack military checkpoints in the southern countryside of the province, again killing scores of them.
Meanwhile, in the eastern province of Deir Ez Zour, Army units clashed with ISIS terrorists in the surrounding areas of Deir Ez Zour Airport, Al Panorama, and Al Baghiliyeh village roundabout, located in the western countryside of Deir Ez Zour Province.
Dozens of the terrorists were killed and their equipment destroyed.
In addition, Syrian Air Force has carried out series of intense strikes, targeting ISIS positions in the surrounding areas of Al Panorama and the Syrian Regiment 137, killing a large number of ISIS terrorists and destroying their equipment and barricades.
