Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal wants to give $500 million US dollars to care for wounded Ukrainian soldiers. The proposed legislation for the Ukrainian Security Assistance Initiative is part of this year’s defense bill.
Mr Blumenthal happens to be at the higher end of the Senate Millionaires Club, but it’s not his money that he’s volunteering to the seemingly noble cause, but – that’s right - that of the taxpayer, and, at the cost of the average US serviceman making only $19,000 per year.
Of course, there is more to unpack to this story without getting into the nitty gritty of it all. Despite the tightly knit collaboration with sources of mainstream media, it is still a known fact that it is the US State Department that largely funds the Ukrainian army and the Poroshenko regime in the first place, with the very intent of sending the soldiers into the meat grinder in the country’s troubled Eastern regions. If only they stopped doing that, perhaps the noble Oligarchy of the US Senate wouldn’t need to fix what ain’t broke in the first place – with the US taxpayers' money.
