WikiLeaks has released a new batch of classified CIA documents, related to work of a video stream collecting program.
The program, dubbed as “Couch Potato”, allows users to remotely hack and capture still images of video streaming files utilizes itself as ffmpeg software, which then produces libraries and programs, used for handling multimedia data, eventually allowing it to decode the content of the streaming connections.
"Today, August 10th 2017, WikiLeaks publishes the the User Guide for the Coach Potato project of the CIA. CouchPotato is a remote tool for collection against RTSP/H.264 video streams," a statement on the WikiLeaks official site reads.
WikiLeaks published the first set of CIA documents on March 7th, declaring that leaking such information was the largest diversion of CIA documents to date.
The leaked documents included more than 8,700 files stored in an internal network of the CIA's intelligence center in the US state of Virginia.
Last week, the site published a new batch of leaked documents that revealed the existence of a mechanism, allowing users to take control of webcams and microphones, as part of its Vault 7 project.
