A monument to the defenders of the Republic which is installed in the center of Lugansk was blown up with an explosive device in the early hours of the morning. Lieutenant-Colonel Andrei Marochko, an official representative of the People's Militia of the People's Republic of of Lugansk, said:
"At about 2 am, the monument for the Defenders of the Republic was destroyed by an unknown explosive device. As a result of the explosion, the monument has been severely damaged."
