Special counsel Robert S. Muller who is working on the case of alleged “Russian interference” in the last year’s US presidential election wants to investigate a number of current and former White House officials, The New York Times reported on Saturday.
The newspaper quoted well-informed sources as saying that Muller was in talks with the West Wing of the White House about interviewing current and former senior administration officials, including the recently ousted White House chief of staff, Reince Priebus.
Muller would also like to gather more information on why the US President Donald Trump sacked the former FBI director James Comey back in May.
The newspaper said that for months it was clear that Mueller attempted to interview advisers close to Trump.
