The Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi has ordered the security forces to protect civilians threatened to vote in favour of Barzani regime’s Kurdistan independence referendum, following several complaints from minorities living in the Kurdistan province.

In addition, Iraq is also moving its military into Kirkuk, a territory which is the subject of dispute between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Iraqi government of Baghdad.

On Monday, the Iraqi Parliament passed laws to investigate oil revenues exported from Kurdistan province and bank accounts of Kurdish politicians.

The parliament has also voted on draft resolution to persecute any officials or state employees who participated in the Kurdistan independence referendum.
