Egypt is preparing to make a breakthrough as it is about to enter the nuclear age with the help of Russia.
The country is about to open its first technical school for nuclear applications, at a cost of 60 million Egyptian Pounds.
The Dabaa School for Nuclear Applications is the first of its kind in the Middle East and will begin its courses next year.
Major General Alaa Abu Zeid, Governor of Matruh, said the fovernorate was able to to provide the construction site in the size of 8 acres, noting that construction was completed under the supervision of the Educational Buildings Authority.
The students will reportedly need to study for five years to receive their degrees.
Dr. Mohammed Al Shirkassi, undersecretary at the Ministry of Education, said that the school will receive 375 students for its first course year next year.
Al Husseini Al Senoussi, head of the center and the city of Dabaa where the school is located, said the school offers 15 classrooms and 10 electrical, mechanics, electronics, physics, chemistry and computer labs.
