The Mayor of the Ukrainian Mykolayiv region, Alexei Savchenko, said that 65% of officials and politicians in the region are "separatists". He spoke of this in an interview with the Ukrainian news publications "Apostrophe".
"In the local government there are people who do not stand up when the national anthem sounds. We have deputies today who say offensive things about the national flag." - he explained.
The Ukrainian governor also said that while these people can not be held accountable legally, he is sure that "separatists should not live with impunity in Ukraine."
