Brigadier General Issam Zahreddine of the Syrian Army's Republican Guard was buried in his hometown of Sweida on Friday.
The much loved and respected general was killed last week in eastern Syria by a landmine planted by ISIS.
The incident occurred in Saqr Island near Deir Ezzor city, killing the Druze general after he successfully resisted ISIS for nearly three years at the provincial capital before the siege was lifted last month.
