DAMASCUS, Syria. Syrian Forces keep advancing towards the ISIS hub of Abu Kamal, located at the Syrian-Iraqi border.
Backed by the Syrian Air Force and artillery units, Syrian troops carried out special operations to eliminate the remains of ISIS from the neighborhoods of Al Hamidiyeh, Al Jbeiliyeh, Al Rashidiyeh, Al Huweiqeh, Al Arifi and Al Sheikh Yassin in Deir Ez Zour city, killing scores of the terrorists and destroying their dens and fortifications in the process.
Through loudspeakers, the paranoid ISIS leaders were calling on the terrorists to withstand and kill anyone who might attempt to surrender to the Syrian Forces.
The Army’s engineering units are still dismantling land mines and IEDs planted earlier by ISIS terrorists in the neighborhoods of Al Mattar Al Qadim, Kannamat, Al Rasafah, Secondary Industrial School, the Industrial Institute, and the street leading to Gassan Aboud roundabout.
In direction of Abu Kamal, army units destroyed several sites, vehicles fortifications and of ISIS terrorists, majority of them in the town of Mahkan, located south of the former ISIS hub of Mayadeen.
Later, the Syrian Air Force carried out more raids, targeting ISIS sites and fortifications in Al Qouria, located southeast of Deir Ez Zour city, killing a whole bunch of ISIS leaders, among them Abu Omar Rawa, Abu Bakar Al Takriti and Abu Shaima Al Iraqi.
Meanwhile, local sources said that Wasel Dabas Al Haroun, one of ISIS emirs in the town of Al Qouria fled the area, adding that more and more ISIS terrorists are attempting to escape to the eastern countryside of the province as a result of the Army’s advances.
In the eastern countryside of Hama province, Syrian Forces discovered an ISIS depot that contained materials, used for manufacturing explosive devices and bombs.
