Washington is "without unnecessary noise" transferring special forces to the Russian border, writes The Nation. In the last year alone, the number of US Special Forces soldiers in Europe has "quadrupled", and now American elite units are located in almost every country on the western border of Russia, the American edition notes.
According to Major Waysman, the official representative of the US Special Forces Command in Europe, in 2017, the United States transferred elite units to 21 European countries. "Outside Russia and Belarus, we conduct joint exercises with virtually all European states ," Wiseman said.
For example, from March to August 2017, members of the US Special Forces took part in military exercises in Finland, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, Georgia and Ukraine, the Nation said.
The American edition draws attention to the fact that the US Special Forces Command in Europe refused to answer questions about "unofficial military operations" on the border with Russia. "Since January 2017, for example, tanks, trucks and other military equipment began to arrive in Germany for subsequent shipment to Poland."
Russia, on the other hand, continues to be painted as the aggressor country in the region.
