Units of the Syrian Army established full control over several hills in the eastern countryside Palmyra, following the destruction of the last ISIS gatherings in the area.

According to the military sources, army units carried out intensive strikes on ISIS gatherings, which eventually led to regaining control over the hills, located north of Hayyan gas field and Marbat Antar Mountain.

The operations are said to have resulted in eliminating dozens of ISIS terrorists and destroying their weapons and ammunition depots. The army’s engineering units are already dismantling the mines and IEDs that were planted by ISIS terrorists while they were controlling the area.

Clashes erupted when ISIS terrorists tried to attack an army positon in the area of Malouk, located in the direction of Talbiseh, north of the Homs city. Army units thwarted the attack and killed a bunch of terrorists and destroyed 2 of their vehicles that were carrying heavy machine guns.

Aside from ISIS, the military also clashed al-Nusra front terrrorists. In the town of Al Rastan, located north of the Homs city, army unita destroyed a site for their terrorists leaders. Lots of terrorists were killed during the operation.

Today also hundreds of terrorists left Al Waar district of Homs, as part of the new phase of the reconciliation agreement.
