The Federation Council may be organizing a Commission, which will develop proposals to counter the interference of Western countries in the internal affairs of Russia. This was stated by the head of the Federation Council's international affairs committee, Konstantin Kosachev.
Kosachev expressed his belief that Western countries in the period before the presidential election 2018 will take active and consistent attempts to influence the election campaign in Russia.
"We would like to see a permanent body that would, firstly, monitor activities aimed against Russia, and secondly, to prepare proposals on the improvement of Russian legislation against this interference", - Kosachev told reporters on Tuesday.
The hearings on the Commission for the prevention of interference in the internal affairs of Russia will be held in the Federation Council on June 7.
Kosachev noted that attempts to intervene and put pressure on Russia's internal affairs is routinely carried out by a number of countries and international organizations. This is most evident during the elections.
