Despite sanctions, Italy doesn’t stop seeking arrangements and partnerships with Russia. The city of Yalta and the Italian Rovigo have signed a memorandum of understanding, which opens up new collaborations. The head of the city administration, Andrej Rostenko, announced the agreement on at the 3rd International Economic Forum in Yalta (20-22 April).

Rovigo’s vice mayor Ezio Conchi – one in over 50 Italian participants to the forum – signed the memorandum for the Italian side. "We have signed - said Rostenko - a memorandum of understanding on the preparation of a cooperation agreement with the city of Rovigo."

Addressing the reporters, Rostenko said that "The vice mayor came with this agreement proposal and – upon his return to Italy – he will discuss with the mayor and councillors all the points of the future agreement on cooperation and connection of our cities."

Next, the date and place of the signing of the agreement between the cities will be determined. Rostenko also highlighted the fact that Rovigo isn’t the only city with which he intends to initiate collaboration.

Today at the Forum Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sergey Nazarov also announced that more than 100 infrastructures will be built in 2017. "This is an unprecedented program with over 600 buildings to be built in Crimea for a cost of more than 12 billion euros," Nazarov said, adding that restructuring is also planned.
