Units of the Syrian Army and the locals have once again clashed with ISIS terrorists in Deir Ez Zour province.

According to the field reports, intense air and artillery strikes were launched against ISIS positions and infiltration points in the villages of Al Shmeitiyeh, Ayyash, Al Kharita and Al Baghiliyeh, destroying several ammunition depots and killing a large number of terrorists, including Saudi national Issa Nasser Al Hijazi who was the local ISIS leader in the northwestern countryside of Deir Ez Zour province.

Meanwhile, local sources from Deir Ez Zour countryside said that clashes erupted between residents of the village of Al Qouriya in Mayadeen area and ISIS terrorists, following their attempt to arrest a large number of young people in the village and force them to fight in their ranks in order to make up for the shortage of manpower, resulting from their losses against the Syrian Army.

The sources added that clashes resulted in several ISIS terrorists being injured, among them Khaled Al Azawi aka “Abu Al Adia”, an ISIS press official in the town of Al Ashara.

The sources also pointed out that ISIS patrols arrested 23 young men from Al Bseira and the town of Ma’adan, noting that several ISIS leaders fled away, including Ammar Al Sattam, Mohammad Al Hmeidan, Mohammad Al Fahd and Mohammad Al Akkaf.
