The federal government in Iraq has imposed a flight ban coming in and out of the autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in the north of the country.
The threat what was made days ago, with Baghdad giving a 72 hour deadline for the KRG to rescind the unconstitutional referendum results for Kurdish independence.
The no-fly zone will be imposed over the areas of Suleimaniyah, Erbil and Dohuk, with the disputed Kirkuk area receiving no mention.
Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Iran have all banned flights to the KRG from their airports.
