The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has announced the launch of a project to create a 'high-tech technopolis' for the development of military technologies.
President Vladimir Putin in his speech at the meeting of the Military-Industrial Commission noted that the creation of a modern innovative technopolis could contribute to strengthening Russia's defense capability. The head of state also noted that Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu had previously reported on such a project.
"We have repeatedly said that we need an effective model of organizing fundamental and applied scientific research that would allow us to actively introduce breakthrough technologies, thereby contributing to strengthening the country's defense capability and ensuring economic growth. This structure will be a new, modern innovative technopolis, where the conditions for the scientific creativity of both young and already established researchers will be provided." - said Vladimir Putin.
"The creation of a technopolis by the military department will allow creating a base of innovative developments and original scientific and technical reserves for subsequent use by domestic companies in the development of science-intensive military products." The military technopolis will include scientific laboratories equipped with advanced equipment and test ranges for simulation of promising developments"- elaborated the Defense Minister Shoigu.
