The Syrian Army today opened new humanitarian corridors in the eastern province of Deir Ez Zour, allowing civilians to depart from certain areas of the province that are still in the hands of the terrorist group ISIS.

The Army wants to help the civilians get to safety and prevent them from becoming human shields of ISIS terrorists, especially as regards children, women and the elderly who are particularly vulnerable to that.

The move comes amid preparations for an assault against ISIS terrorists, lurking in the countryside of the province.

The provincial authorities have already made all necessary actions to ensure safety of the civilians and started to deliver and offer aid and treatment to those in need.

The authorities called on people living in areas besieged by ISIS to immediately go to the nearest point of presence of the Syrian Army and wait to be evacuated to safety.

Only yesterday, one of the Syrian Army units evacuated 21 civilians, women and children including, to the city of Deir Ez Zour, after one of the ISIS dens was thwarted in the western countryside of the city.

Ever since the Syrian Army broke the siege imposed by ISIS terrorists on the city of Deir Ez Zour earlier in the month, a land bridge to transport basic needs and other supplies, was established.
