Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has once again been the subject of an embarrassing incident, this time in New York.
In a video, published online by the Voice of America, members of the audience were shouting at Erdoğan in opposition to his policies toward the Kurdish minority in his country, as well as toward Kurds in northern Syria along the Turkish border.
While Erdogan was delivering his speech, one of the protesters started screaming “You’re a terrorist. Get out of my country!”
Immediately afterwards, the violence broke out and the young man was pulled out of the room by Erdogan’s security agents.
Witnesses said security guards also pushed the middle-aged man (reportedly another protester), who then fell to the ground.
In mid-May, violent clashes broke out between Erdogan's security guards and the predominantly Kurdish protesters in Washington after a meeting between Erdogan and the US President Donald Trump.
