At least two people, perpetrator including, were killed during a knife attack that took place at the Saint-Charles train station in the city of Marseille on Sunday, according to French Police.
The attacker, who was shouting “Allahu Akbar”, was shot dead by an army patrol at the scene.
The French Interior Minister Gérard Collomb immediately went to the scene of the attack.
The incident has since been labeled as a “terrorist act”, according to Reuters.
At least one person succumbed to the wounds after being stabbed by the attacker.
The attacker was later shot dead by the police.
For now, it is unknown whether he was operating on behalf of the terrorist group ISIS that has struck France several times in the past.
His identity was also not revealed.
