Terrorist group ISIS has released video footage showing two Russian servicemen who were last week reportedly captured in the desert area, and not far from the administrative borders of Homs and Deir Ez Zour provinces in eastern Syria.

Based on information from the footage, the Russian servicemen were captured alive last week when ISIS terrorists raided the town of Al Shola, located along the Sukhneh-Deir Ez Zour highway.

The town was later retaken by the Syrian Forces who were (while receiving support from the Russian Air Force), conducting operations to liberate territories in the eastern province of Deir Ez Zour.

Later, however, ISIS terrorists launched series of “surprise” counter-attacks, killing dozens of the Syrian Army troops in the process.

The terrorist group has also issued a statement, saying it captured two Russian servicemen.

The Russian Ministry of Defense categorically denied the claim.
