Pyongyang issued a new atlas of the world, where Crimea is designated as part of Russia, the Russian embassy in the DPRK said on its official Facebook page.

Diplomatic representation drew attention to the political atlas of the world, issued by the North Korean publishing house "Scientific Encyclopedia". On pages 240-242 of this edition, Crimea is painted in Russian colors.

As we explained in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, the republic respects the results of the referendum held in Crimea on the entry of the peninsula into the Russian Federation, and considers its results to be legitimate and fully compliant with international legal norms, said the Russian embassy in a statement.

The diplomatic mission noted that "the DPRK formally outlined its position on this issue when voting in the UN and proceeds from the fact that the Crimea is an integral part of the Russian Federation."

Similarly, Pyongyang refers to the question of the ownership of the Kuril Islands as Russia.
