MEDITERRANEAN. The Tu-22M3 long distance bombers and the Kolpino submarine, together, attacked the positions of terrorists in the Syrian city of Abu Kemal. As Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, said, ISIS fighters suffered devastating losses. This allowed the Syrian army, under the command of General Hassan Suhel, to go on the offensive.

The diesel-electric submarine Kolpino shelled the positions of terrorists from under the water. It launched six Caliber missiles from a distance of 650 kilometers. In turn, six Tu-22M3 dropped bombs on the enemy. They were helped along by their "smaller brothers": Su-24 and Su-34. And from the air all of them were covered by Su-30SM and Su-35 fighters, taking off from the Syrian air base of Khmeimim.

In total, over the past three days, Tu-22M3 ISIS positions were struck 18 times, with the fleet releasing 9 Caliber missile from Kolpino and Veliky Novgorod submarines.
