KIEV, Ukraine. Several thousand have gathered near the Verkhovna Rada, in a protest organized by Mikhail Saakashvili. The participants unfurled flags of Ukraine and black-and-red Bandera banners, as well as posters that read "Impeachment", "Fish rot from the head", etc.

Despite the large number of protesters there is no significant police force, as there was in October. There are about 50 policemen in total guarding the entrance to the Rada.

The Head of Interior Ministry, Arsen Avakov, gave the order to withdraw most of the police from from around parliament groudns. This occurred after Avakov's son was arrested on charges of corruption. According to one of the versions, the attack on Avakov Jr. was ordered by President Petro Poroshenko, who is in conflict with the head of the Interior Ministry.

Today's rally began with a prayer service, at the beginning of which a priest addressed the audience with the Bandera greeting: "Glory to the nation! Death to the enemies!"
