The Syrian Army is continuing its offensive on terrorist positions in the 1070 neighborhood and the market district in southwestern Aleppo.
A source in the city militia reported to RIA Novosti: “The army and militia brigades are continuing to assault the Hekma hill, whose capture would cut off terrorists’ supply routes to the 1070 block. Fierce fighting is ongoing.”
According to the source’s information, militants have brought in reinforcements to the neighboring Rashidin 4 apartment complex and begun to intensely fire at positions of government forces and the militia with mortars and heavy machine guns.
Syrian assault forces are also under fire from the 1070 apartment block and market.
By Monday, the Syrian Army’s offensive had retaken control of the strategic Boza hill where air defense complexes were stationed.
Government troop’s offensive began several hours after the end of the three-day humanitarian pause during which militants and civilians were given the opportunity to leave Aleppo’s eastern neighborhoods. However, terrorists refused to leave the eastern part of the city and prohibited civilians from leaving under the threat of death.
