The United States on Thursday, December 29 decided to expel 35 Russian diplomats and to close two offices used by Russian workers, one in New York and one in Maryland. It is reported by Reuters.
A senior US official called it "a response to a campaign of harassment of American diplomats in Moscow by the Russian authorities."
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the news agency that Russian diplomats have 72 hours to leave the United States.
Access to the two institutions will be closed to all Russian officials starting at noon Friday, December 30.
