Ukrainian Tochka-U
The Investigative Committee of Russia has established evidence of the use of Tochka-U tactical missiles against the population of Donbass by the armed forces of Ukraine. This has been announced by the department’s spokeswoman, Svetlana Petrenko.
“We have acquired professionally documented and irrefutable evidence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s use of a weapon of mass destruction - the Tochka-U tactical rocket system - against the civilian population over the course of the armed conflict,” Petrenko stated.
Ukrainian forces show off Tochka-U firing
The Investigative Committee has stated that the use of weapons of high-killing power which offer civilians no chance to be saved is a violation of international norms.
Recently, this weapon of mass destruction has been used to bombard the villages of Novosvetlovka and Ternovoe, residential areas in the Krasnodon district, the city of Rovenki, and the village of Yubileynyi Luganska.
January 2015 report showing Tochka-U attacks and shells:
The Tochka-U is a Soviet missile system that entered service in 1989. After the collapse of the USSR, a significant portion of these systems were left at the disposal of Ukrainian authorities. Tochka-U units are equipped with ballistic missiles with a firing range of around 120 km.
