Today, deputy commander of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Eduard Basurin, reported that the rotation promised by the Ukrainian command has been indefinitely postponed. Basurin appealed to Ukrainian troops on this matter.
“It’s easier for them to leave you in your positions than try to find people wanting to go to the ATO zone who, by the way, are only a handful,” the DPR commander stated.
Basurin continued: “Your own command won’t let you just earn money. The Verkhovna Rada’s decree on toughening the responsibility of servicemen has entered into practical force in the army. On its basis, military units have already received specific instructions about withholding payments from units for the economy.”
“For example, in the 92nd mechanized brigade, this figure is 3,000,000 hryvnia. That is, the commanders have all grounds to deprive you of money allowances for made-up reasons,” Basurin explained.
Personnel shortages in the Ukrainian army have recently buried Ukrainian troops’ aspirations to return home in the near future. Yesterday it was reported that in order to fight mass desertion by Ukrainian servicemen, the Ukrainian command of the so-called ATO was compelled to impose curfew in the occupied cities of the DPR.
“It’s not worth throwing away your lives for this. Don’t worsen your situation, return home to your families alive - I repeat, alive, especially in a time so difficult for Ukraine! Otherwise, your loved ones will be left not only without your money, but without a breadwinner,” Basurin concluded.
