The Council of the European Union has extended the anti Russian sanctions for another six months, until 15th of September, against individual citizens and legal entities of Ukraine and Russia, which the EU considers responsible for "undermining the territorial integrity" of Ukraine, informed the Council of the EU press service.
Currently, 150 people are on the sanctions list and 37 organizations. The European Union, on March 17, 2014, after the referendum on the reunification of the Crimea with Russia, took individual sanctions against these select individuals and organizations.
Since then, the restrictive measures were extended repeatedly. It is primarily the freezing of assets and a ban on travel to the EU in relation to individuals and legal entities, including Russian businessmen and officials, as well as representatives of the militia leadership and self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
