A new batch of food aid provided by Russia was distributed to a number of families in Aleppo, Hama and Daraa provinces in the past 48 hours.
According to the statement from the Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center, about 6.8 tons of humanitarian aid, food packages including, was distributed to the people in the neighborhoods of Qadi Askar, Al Ashrafiyeh, Beshara Al Khouri, Al-Sheikh Sa`ed, Al Hamadaniyeh, Al Sheikh Maqsoud, Halab Al Qadimeh and Al Ajami area in Aleppo. The aid was also distributed to the needy families in Al Salamiyeh in Hama province and Khabbab town in Daraa province. The statement further added that the Russian aircrafts dropped 20,6 tons of humanitarian aid in Deir Ezzor province, on behalf of UN.

The latest batch comes few days after 350 food packages and gifts for children, provided by the Russian government, were distributed to the families in Khabab and Bassir towns in the Northern countryside of Daraa province. Mouhammad Khaled Al Hannous, the governor of Darraa province said that the aid batch expresses the depth of the Syrian-Russian relations and helps to strengthen the steadfastness of the Syrian people in confronting terrorism. In turn, representative of the Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center in the Southern Area, Gennady Bariovich, said that his country will continue with the efforts to help and support terror-affected people in need, adding that the local reconciliations have positive impact on the lives of Syrians across the country.
Mayor of Khabab municipality, Ahed Badawi, said that 250 food packages were distributed to families in Khabab town, while other 100 packages were distributed to the people of Bassir Village.
