Yesterday, March 7th, the chiefs of the General Staffs of Russia, Turkey, and the US held a trilateral meeting in Antalya, Turkey. Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov, Turkish General Staff Chief Hulusi Akar, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, Joseph Dunford were all present. 

Over the course of the meeting, the commanders discussed regional security in Syria and Iraq. 


The talks also touched on the current situation in the fight against terrorism in Syria, in particular in the context of improving the efficiency of countermeasures against all terrorist organizations in the future. 

All three sides emphasized the importance of additional measures for preventing incidents over the course of operations. The Turkish General Staff has confirmed that “with the aim of more effectively combatting terrorist organizations, additional measures to prevent the occurrence of undesirable incidents between the military servicemen of the three countries were discussed.”
