Units of the Syrian Army, in cooperation with their allies, managed to gain control of Al Mazar mountain range and transport depots that were previously under control of ISIS, located 15 kilometers east of Palmyra.

The gains come following yesterday’s liberation of the castle of Al Hurra and Wadi Ahmar in the vicinity of Al Sukhni, Arg and Jbab Hamad, east of Palmyra where the Syrian Air Force carried out strikes against ISIS positions, during which dozens of terrorists were annihilated and their armed vehicles destroyed.

Over the last few hours, the military was involved in heavy clashes with ISIS terrorists during which scores of terrorists were killed and their equipment destroyed. Experts from the Army have already begun dismantling the landmines and IEDs.

A similar set of operations continued in the province of Deir Ez Zour where units of the Syrian army attacked ISIS positions and their headquarters, located south of the ISIS regiment 137 in the south-western countryside of Deir Ez Zour during lots of terrorists were killed and three sandbag fortifications were destroyed.
The artillery units of the Syrian army continued with their operations in the hills, mount Al Therdh, the airport and the graveyard areas.

The gain come amid the two suicide attacks that devastated Damascus yesterday, leaving more than 30 people dead and injured.
