Over the past year, the Ukrainian army has modernised to such extent, that it scared off Russia, which decided to stop the war in the Donbass. This was reiterated by the President of the Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, at the "Yalta European Strategy" forum, which is hosted by the son-in-law of Leonid Kuchma [first Ukrainian president] - oligarch, Victor Pinchuk.

Poroshenko stipulated that while the budget of the Ukrainian armed forces will increase over the next year, the conflict in the Donbass can only be decided by diplomatic means, unfortunately for Poroshenko.
