British Metropolitan Police said four men, suspected of preparing terrorist acts in the country, were arrested on Wednesday.
According to police sources, four men, aged 18, 24, 25 and 27, were arrested at their homes in eastern London, following raids, conducted by the officers of the Counter Terrorism Command of the Metropolitan Police .
The Police also said the arrests were pre-planned as a part of an ongoing investigation, led by the officers of the Counter Terrorism Command of the Metropolitan Police and the British Domestic Security Service (MI-5).
The men are currently held in custody as they are being interrogated at a police station in southern London, on suspicion of having played a role in planning terrorist acts throughout the country.
In August 2014, Britain rose the level of threat of terrorism to the second highest one, meaning there is a high possibility that terrorists could strike anywhere and at any moment in the country.
