Putin accuses the US of interfering in elections "around the world"
Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to NBC host Megyn Kelly on charges of Russian interference in the elections.
"I do not want to offend anyone, but the United States everywhere, throughout the world, actively interferes in the election campaigns of other countries," Putin said in an interview with Kelly. According to the Russian president, "wherever you put your finger on a map of the world," there will always be complaints about interference in the internal political processes by "American officials."
In this regard, Putin noted that if someone tries to influence internal processes in the US, "then the United States has nothing to be offended about." "I'm not saying that it's us - we did not in fact interfere," he added. "Who says this to us? Who is taking offense at us for interfering? You are constantly intervening," Putin concluded.
"With all due respect, this sounds like an excuse," Kelly said, but Putin responded by saying that "this does not sound like an excuse, it sounds like a statement of fact."
