The Pentagon has interpreted the fact that Russia had intercepted a US strategic aircraft RC-135U, by Russian fighter jet Su-27, as 'unsafe'.
According to a representative of the US European Command, the high speed approach and the lack of control of the aircraft during interception showed unprofessional actions on the part of Russia.
A reminder, that the interception of the aircraft took place on June 19 over the Baltic Sea.
"Armed Russian jet" vs. "American plane" is not quite accurate. The US aircraft was a strategic reconnaissance aircraft.
