July 25, 2017 - Fort Russ News -
The world’s largest aircraft, Antonov-225, was developed in the 1980s to carry the Soviet version of the space shuttle on its back. Since then, it has been operating as the world's largest cargo aircraft.
On 19 July, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has liquidated the aircraft construction factory Antonov.
Fort Russ first reported of troubles at Antonov in April of this year.
"The indisputable achievement of the top management at Antonov, is establishing an unprecedented level of remuneration for their work. The vice-president, for example, has a salary several times higher than a person who has worked there for over a decade, as an aircraft designer" - states an employee.
The famous aircraft factory today has almost no orders.
"Why no orders? Where did they go? Orders were there before, albeit not huge. Around the world, there are 40 aircraft that were constructed here; AN-148 and AN-158, 6 x An-32 for the Iraqi Air Force, 4 x AN-32 for the Ministry of Emergency Situations, several An-74 went to Kazakhstan, Laos, and others countries.
The answer is simple; potential customers are well aware of the situation in the aviation industry of Ukraine and do not share the optimism of the expertise of its leaders. Let me remind you that the last An-148 was completed and handed over to North Korea two years ago - in April 2015. And two months after, Poroshenko's men replaced the company's management. From that moment on, that is, during the second half of 2015, the entire 2016 and the first half of 2017 not a single aircraft has been delivered to customers! "- the author writes.
