DNR News - by Inessa Sinchougova
The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has prepared a bill that will abolish all legal acts adopted in the Ukrainian USSR. This was stated by the Minister of Justice of the country Pavel Petrenko at a press conference in Kiev.
The bill repeals all acts adopted before Ukraine's independence, all acts adopted by the Ministry and governments of the Ukrainian USSR, and establishes "clear terms" for Ukraine to develop its own Ukrainian legislation.
Generally speaking, if new laws do not yet exist, repealing old ones creates much room for legal loopholes across all criminal and civil jurisdictions.
PS - by extension of the logic, wouldn't this also include the very law on the creation of Ukrainian independence?
