Suicide bombing occurred at the main entrance of the Iraqi embassy in the Afghan capital Kabul on Monday morning.
Some initial media reports spoke of a violent confrontation between gunmen and Afghan security forces, with the agency Khaama Press claiming the bombing occurred in the Shahr-e Nu district, while Reuters reported of a bombing near a police station in the same area.
The terrorist group ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the bombing.
According to its own Amaq new agency, two of its terrorists blew themselves up at the main gate, killing seven guards, while two other terrorists broke into the compound.
The exact number of victims is not yet known.
Najib Danish, a spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry said the embassy personnel were safe, although embassy guards and nearby civilians might have been among those injured.
