The General Command of the Syrian Army and the Armed Forces issued a statement on Saturday, confirming the Israeli allegations made on attacking the positions of the Syrian Army in the countryside of Quneitra province, which led to material damage.
The statement noted that the Israeli attack comes within the framework of coordination between Israel and the terrorist groups operating in the area, claiming that terrorists, while receiving instructions from Israel, fired mortar shells which landed in an empty land in the occupied Golan Heights, with the purpose of giving Israel an excuse to carry out its aggression against the Syrian Army.
The General Command then warned Israel of serious consequences, should such actions repeat.
On Saturday morning, the Israeli Defense Forces carried out an attack on Syrian Army positions in Quneitra province with three missiles, resulting in material losses without causing casualties in the ranks of the Syrian Army.
Earlier on Saturday, the IDF said on its Twitter page that five shells fell in the northern countryside of the Golan Heights, without giving any information on the casualties, adding that the shells fell due to internal clashes taking place in Syria and that the IDF units were already searching the area.
