Syrians and Russians prepared a celebration on the occasion of the Russian Navy Day.
On Sunday, festivities and a parade were held in the coastal Syrian city of Tartous, which also hosts the only Russian naval base in the Mediterranean.
On behalf of the Syrian President Bashar Al Assad, the Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam, expressed gratitude to the personnel of the Russian naval forces on the occasion of their holiday.
The Syrian Army’s Chief of Staff, Major General Ali Abdullah Ayoub, also participated in the festivities along with several officers from the General Command of the Syrian Army, in addition to Sergei Surovikin, a commander of the Russian forces in Syria, and a group of Russian army officers.
Several naval units, as well as jets and bombers, currently deployed in Russian bases in Syria, participated in the festivities.
