The fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on position near Avdeevka have told Ukrainian media that they intend to stand to the end, accusing the DPR of violating the ceasefire.
One of the soldiers said that the fighting for the Russian side is being done by Dagestanis (Dagestan is a neighbouring republic to Chechnya.)
"Here they are not far from us - 400 meters. We have a Russian aggressor, no one denies this. But here Dagestanis are before us and they do not hide the Russian flag. " - he said.
Dagestan is part of Russia last we checked - but the insinuation here is that Dagestanis are not 'ethnically' Russian and hence it's not 'their' war.
