Multiple explosions have reportedly rocked an ammunition depot in Siazan district, located in the northeast of Azerbaijan, where a fire broke out earlier on Sunday morning, causing at least 6 people to be injured.
Residents of the enarby settlements had to be evacuated.
The ambulances have already been dispatched to the scene and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
Health officials said 6 people injured by shrapnel were taken to hospital. Their lives are not in danger.
According to local sources, several homes in the village of Gilyazi were hit by projectiles coming from the depot. The shells started fires in the buildings, with firefighters dealing with the spillover.
Due to incident, the highway linking the Azeri capital city of Baku with Russian Federation had to be closed.
