Syrian Army has gained control over a number of strategic hills in the vicinity of the village of Salba, located east of the town of Salmiyeh in the countryside of Hama province.
The progress was made while carrying out anti-ISIS operations on positions and fortifications of ISIS terrorists in the vicinity of Salba.
A control of surrounding hills was assumed after last gathering of ISIS terrorists was destroyed.
The army units also discovered a network of tunnels in the hills they captured, and which were previously used by ISIS terrorists to move and relocate weapons, ammunition, food and medical supplies.
The village of Salba, located northwest of the strategic town of Uqayribat (a strategic ISIS hub), is the main supply center of ISIS terrorists in the outskirts of the Syrian Desert, and is frequetly used by terrorists to launch mortar attacks on residential areas in the vicinity.
Meanwhile, in the eastern province of Deir Ez Zour, army units intensified their operations and killed dozens of the terrorists and destroyed their weapon and ammunition stockpiles, while conducting the raids on the axis of Al Baghiliyeh-Al Panorama.
In addition, the Syrian Air Force carried out new series of strikes against ISIS positions in Hawija Kata, Al Thardah junction, the surrounding areas of Deir Ez Zour Airport , the neighborhoods of Hweiqah and the Old Airport in Deir Ez Zour city, and the villages of Al Baghiliyeh, Al Jneineh, As Sholah, Al Shamaitiyeh and Al Tabanneh, killing scores of the terrorists.
